ONE: Century!

What a truly historic night! Please join me in congratulating all of the incredible ONE Championship athletes who competed in ONE: Century in Tokyo last night. ONE: Century blew away my expectations. It was a mega event of epic proportions and global consequence. Our superheroes delivered so many extraordinary performances. The world witnessed greatness.

Our digital and social media metrics broke new record highs by significant margins on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and the ONE Super App. Also, according to many of our broadcast partners around the world, ONE: Century delivered outstanding numbers. I cannot wait for our Nielsen data on TV ratings to come out from each country over the next several days. Without a doubt, ONE: Century broke a new record high in viewership numbers. Thank you to all of our fans around the world for making history again!!!

Congratulations to ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion Aung La Nsang for defending his title in such spectacular fashion against ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera. I am truly grateful to both of you for everything you have done for all of us at ONE Championship. You are men amongst men. I am truly proud to call you my brothers. Congratulations to ONE Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee for putting on the most incredible performance against ONE Strawweight World Champion Jingnan Xiong! You are both truly the best female martial artists in the world. Thank you for inspiring all of us with your warrior spirit. Angela, you showed yourself and the world why you are truly the best atomweight on the planet! I also want to congratulate ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Champion Demetrious Johnson for proving yet again why he is the greatest pound-for-pound martial artist in history. DJ displayed technical mastery and athletic prowess befitting of the greatest. He fought a game, dangerous opponent in Danny Kingad, and made it look easy. As for Danny, he is still one of the best in the world and he is just getting started as a young athlete. Mark my words. Danny will be king of the division in the future. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be a world champion one day. Congratulations to ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian Lee on also becoming ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Champion! Amazingly, Christian took the fight on 10 days notice with no training camp against arguably the toughest and most dangerous athlete in the division, Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev. That being said, I believe that Dagi will be back stronger than ever. I predict these two warriors will face each other again in the future at some point. Both Christian and Dagi have global superstar potential. They are both just getting started in their careers. Let’s give them another huge round of applause!

There were so many extraordinary performances last night, but two performances really stood out above the rest. It is only right to award a US$50,000 performance bonus each to Aung La Nsang and Angela Lee for their incredible performances. They both truly delivered performances of a lifetime. Above all, they truly exemplify what it means to be martial artists. They represent the core values of martial arts: integrity, humility, honor, respect, courage, discipline, and compassion. ONE Championship is truly blessed to call Aung La and Angela our superheroes! Congrats again, Aung La and Angela!!!

Congratulations to ONE Featherweight World Grand Prix Kickboxing Champion Giorgio Petrosyan for winning the US$1m tournament prize and for demonstrating yet again why you are the pound-for-pound #1 greatest kickboxer in history! Giorgio put on a masterful display of technical beauty and creative genius. Congratulations to ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano Fernandes for defeating the sensational Kevin Belingon with beautiful world championship jiu-jitsu! Like Bibi said earlier, I also believe that Kevin will reign as world champion again in the future. Most importantly, they put away their bad blood after the fight. Please show some love for these two warriors!
